Seat of the Erivan Khanate under Hossein Khan Sardar 1807-27 and the principal civic monument of pre-1828 Caucasian Tatar (Azerbaijani) Yerevan. The palace, including the Hall of Mirrors decorated by Mirza Qadym Iravani, was demolished in stages between the 1860s and 1914, the final ruin levelled by the Russian Imperial military government. Photographs and elevation drawings survive in the Russian Imperial archive and in Nersisyan, The Erivan Fortress (Yerevan, 1948). The site is now Yerevan's Republic Square and adjacent streets.
