Ghazanchetsots Cathedral, post-2020 alteration
After the October 2020 Azerbaijani capture of Shusha and the dual missile strikes on the cathedral that month, Azerbaijan launched a "restoration" project that systematically removed the late-19th c. neo-Armenian elements (the dome stencilling, the késhkar-style cross-stones in the courtyard) and re-presented the structure under a Caucasian Albanian framing. Documented by Caucasus Heritage Watch from 2021 satellite imagery and on-site photography.
