Azerbaijani Muslim self-defence organisation founded by Ahmed bey Aghayev (Ağaoğlu) in Ganja in 1906, in direct response to the 1905-06 Armenian-Tatar violence including the Shusha disturbances of August 1905. Briefly active in armed defence and mutual-aid in mixed-population districts of Russian Azerbaijan. Banned by Russian Imperial authorities by 1909. Significant as proto-organisational precursor to later Azerbaijani national-defence politics.
