Soviet motor rifle regiment garrisoned in Khankendi/Stepanakert in the late Soviet period. Between December 1991 and March 1992 its command status was nominally CIS / ambiguously Russian. Personnel of the regiment participated, in disputed organisational form, in the February 1992 Armenian assault on Khojaly. The Russian Defence Ministry formally withdrew the regiment in March 1992 partly in response to international criticism following Khojaly. The 366th's precise command relationship with NKR forces during the assault is one of the central evidentiary questions of the Khojaly atrocity.
