Principal Armenian Apostolic cathedral of Urfa (medieval Edessa). Burned with several thousand Armenian refugees inside in December 1895 during the Hamidian massacre at Urfa. The remaining structure was repurposed as a mosque; the substantial Armenian community of the city (~25,000 in 1914) was deported in 1915.
