Reported closing line of Hitler's second 22 August 1939 Obersalzberg address to senior Wehrmacht commanders. Recorded only in the so-called Lochner Version (Nuremberg document L-3); two parallel sets of notes (1014-PS, 798-PS) seized at OKW headquarters do not contain the sentence. The Lochner text is the only canonical source, its authenticity is defended by Kévorkian, Bardakjian and others, contested by some Turkish historians.
