Treaty of Turkmenchay

Russo-Persian peace ending the war of 1826–28. Persia ceded the khanates of Erivan and Nakhichevan to the Russian Empire and accepted Russian protection of the Armenian population, with Article XV opening repatriation from Iran to the newly formed Armianskaia oblast.
